Challenge
Installing sewer at 4.5 metres depth in a shared trench demands strict excavation controls, with a pressure main and an electrical network delivered through the same corridor.
Approach
Benang self-performed the shared trench build, installing 480 metres of sewer main at 4.5 metres depth together with a 100mm PVC pressure main and the low voltage electrical network, then tested and commissioned the services.
Outcome
The works were completed with a peak crew of six, 30 per cent Aboriginal participation, zero lost time injuries, and zero environmental incidents, demonstrating deep excavation and multi-utility trench capability.
