About the Fabrication team
Precision fabrication and coded welding from Bibra Lake.
Benang Mechanical fabricates vessels, pipework, engineered components and structural assemblies from our Bibra Lake workshop: an 850 square metre fabrication bay with 7 metre door clearance, 7.5 metre hook height and cranage to 10 tonnes, backed by a 1,600 square metre laydown at Perth Airport. We work in carbon steel, stainless, duplex and super duplex, Zeron and Inconel, and weld to AS 1554.1, ASME IX, ASME B31.3, AS 2885.2, AS 3992, AS 4041, AS 1210, API 1104, AWS D1.1 and DNV, with in-house NDT. On site, our crews deliver mechanical and piping installation, structural steel including chutes and hoppers, and planned, reactive and shutdown maintenance, onshore and offshore. Grant Horwood, Operations Manager for Mechanical, leads the team.
Benang Mechanical is one of very few Aboriginal-owned contractors in Australia delivering precision fabrication, coded welding, boilermaking and shutdown support at this level, work that has opened opportunities for end-to-end delivery and diversification into the oil and gas sector.

Fabrication capabilities
Precision fabrication and boilermaking
Structural steel fabrication, pipe spooling, pressure vessel and boilermaking work from our Bibra Lake workshop, in carbon steel, stainless, duplex and exotic alloys.
Coded welding and NDT
Coded welding across structural and pressure applications to AS 1554.1, ASME IX, ASME B31.3, AS 2885.2, AS 3992, AS 4041, AS 1210, API 1104, AWS D1.1 and DNV, with in-house NDT capability.
Plant and equipment installation
Mechanical equipment installation including pumps, motors, conveyors, and pressure vessels.
Planned maintenance
Scheduled shutdown and maintenance programmes for industrial plant, mining equipment, and processing facilities.
Reactive maintenance
Rapid response maintenance and breakdown repair for critical plant across Western Australia, onshore and offshore.
