Benang self-performed the contractor scope for Western Power's network support works at Cockburn Road, Henderson, installing around 2,240 metres of high voltage cable on a congested route with rail crossings, delivered around three Western Power outages in March 2026.

Challenge
The cable route ran through high traffic areas past critical gas lines and overhead transmission, with rail under-bores to negotiate, and the works had to land inside Western Power's three-outage window in March 2026.
Approach
Benang self-performed the civil construction, cable installation, joint holes and reinstatement, boundary and rail under-bore surveying, service location with vac extraction around poles, inline cable jointing at drum locations, site restoration, and traffic management across the three Western Power outages, working under a rail safety management plan.
Outcome
Around 2,240 metres of high voltage cable was installed and pre-commissioned with core-to-screen and screen-to-earth 5kV tests, delivered to Western Power's outage program for switching, jointing and VLF testing across the March 2026 outages.
