Benang installed low voltage underground power distribution at Fortescue's Cloudbreak mine site, delivering around 2,870 metres of cabling across 32 runs from poles and kiosk transformers to bore pumps, including earthworks, conduit, and catenary sections.

Challenge
The work moved bore pumps off generator connections to distributed power at an active Pilbara mine site, a remote brownfield environment where final cable and conduit positions had to be confirmed against live operations.
Approach
Benang located services, surveyed, and soil tested, then decommissioned the existing generator connections. The crew installed 13 direct buried low voltage runs totalling around 1,600 metres with earthworks and conduit, and 19 catenary and underground runs totalling around 1,270 metres, confirming final conduit positions with site personnel.
Outcome
Benang delivered around 2,870 metres of cabling across 32 runs, moving bore pumps off generator connections to distributed power. The job was completed with a peak crew of 20 and 10 per cent Aboriginal participation, with zero lost time injuries and zero environmental incidents. The work supports Fortescue's decarbonisation efforts at Cloudbreak, and the engagement with Fortescue through TCD Civil has continued.
