Challenge
The culverts sit in a live rail environment, so every lift and excavation had to run under critical lifting procedures and strict rail safety operations.
Approach
Benang completed the investigation and design validation, then carried out the earthworks to extend two drainage culvert barrels, executing critical lifts inside the live rail corridor for batter surface water management and erosion control.
Outcome
The extension was completed with 30 per cent Aboriginal participation, zero lost time injuries, and zero environmental incidents.
